This misdirected ridiculous behavior by the NAACP epitomizes why I, a black American, will never join or give one nickel to this exploitative divisive organization. With black high school
dropout rates at epidemic levels, 80% of black kids growing up in fatherless homes and 50% of black pregnancies ending in abortion, why on earth would the NAACP invest time and energy into running around covering up statues of long dead white guys; rather than addressing real issues plaguing black America today?
The NAACP's mantra is blacks are eternal victims of an eternally racist America; white America should feel eternally guilty and loyal blacks should feel eternally entitled.
I've heard, Always follow the money. Somewhere along the way, the once great NAACP strayed from being dignified true advocates for fairness, civil rights and holding blacks accountable to gettin' paid.
The NAACP's searching the past for evidence to reenforce their victim status and protesting things which have zero effect on the lives of contemporary black Americans is laying the foundation for more government handouts, extortion of "businesses and reparations".
Black race exploiters are well aware of the power of playing the race card. It trumps all logic, reason and truth. Whites accused of racism typically cower in fear. Devastated and panicked, the accused white pleads, I'll take back everything I said, give you my home and

The history of America and of western civilization is NOT being taught as it should be in our schools and universities today!
Historical facts are being "suppressed" and what is taught is "distorted"
There are two enlightening books backed-up with research called "They were white and were sold into slavery: the untold story of the enslavement of whites in early America and industrial Britain" and "White Cargo" Also the book titled: "The 10 big lies about America"
Big lie#1 (where it's claimed that the U.S. is uniquely guilty for the crime of slavery, and based it's wealth on stolen African labor) which turns out to be one of the biggest lies ever perpetrated against the U.S. The vast majority of African slaves went to South America and the Caribbean Islands.You'll be amazed to learn what really took place.
As many as 90% of those indentured were never freed. Many were worked to death. Agreements to keep husbands and wives, or families together were not honored, with family members being sold off, including children born during the indenture.
Blacks did not wait for whites to engage in slave trading. Actually it is an African custom that goes back millenias.
Blacks raiding blacks, taking them as slaves and trading them to Egyptians or rulers across the red sea. (Hittites, Persians, etc...)
The carthagenians use to sell slaves to all of northern Africa, while big african kingdoms were big slave holders and traders.
As for whites, the first slaves of white by white were other whites. The Greeks and the Romans were the first one to do it on a grand scale. Usualy defeated ennemies or poor people that could not pay their debts.
This carried all the way to the US when Britain started importing indentured white slaves, who had been condemned to slavery for not being able to pay their debts. Way before they introduced black slavery. The spaniards of course in the US first used Indian slaves before they imported any, and continued to do so in most of central and south America.
Black Slavery in America and the Antilles only started due to a lack of labor in the plantations due to the exhaustion of local population. It was never a white invention as you would like to push it; Rather an opportunity presented to white traders by powerful black African kingdoms who saw it as a great commercial opportunity.
The term "redneck" originally referred to the white slaves who were political prisoners from Ireland (shipped beginning in 1655 by Henry Cromwell), who were often worked to death in the sun, called "redshanks", "rednecks", and "redlegs" before they expired from the heat. (The Redlegs of Barbados by Jill Sheppard). It's every bit as offensive as the word nigger, complete with the same history.
The word "slave" comes from the word "Slav", a group of whites more enslaved throughout history than any other people - The Dictionary. The term "Slav" became the root of the word "slave" in almost every culture, because it was assumed your slave was a Slav.
Nell Irvin Painter - professor Emerita at Princeton University, winner of some Edwards award, and author of several books on black history (yep, she's African American. And yep, she hates white people) has this to say about slavery in the American colonies in her book "The History of White People" published just this year - 2010:
"By the middle of the 17th century, when Virginia's slave population numbered 11,000, only some 300 were African. Any of them - African, British, Scottish or Irish - were lucky to outlive their terms of service. Of the 300 children shipped from Britain between 1619 and 1622, only 12 were still alive in 1624." So 2 to 5 years later, 288 had died.
There were 4 white slaves for every black 1 in the American colonies - "White Cargo: The Forgotten History of Britain's White Slaves in America" by Don Jordan and Michael Walsh;

And Africans enslaved Europeans first, as well as during, the American enslavement of Afiricans - "Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters: White Slavery in the Mediterranean, the Barbary Coast and Italy, 1500-1800 (Early Modern History)" by Robert C. Davis;

One huge difference is that white slaves were not allowed to reproduce. White male slaves in the Ottoman Empire were forcibly made eunichs, and many of them died from the forced castration. ROOTS LIED
January 16, 2002 -- ON Friday, NBC will air a special commemorating the 25th anniversary of the landmark miniseries based on Alex Haley's book "Roots." Ironically, the original series aired on ABC - but officials at that network took a pass on broadcasting the tribute.
What's truly amazing, however, is that "Roots" is receiving a reverential tribute at all. For while the miniseries was a remarkable - and important - piece of television, the book on which it was based has now been widely exposed as a historical hoax.
Unfortunately, the general public is largely unaware of how Haley's monumental family autobiography, stretching back to 18th-century Africa, has been discredited.
Indeed, a 1997 BBC documentary expose of Haley's work has been banned by U.S. television networks - especially PBS, which would normally welcome such a program.
Coincidentally, the "Roots" anniversary comes amid the growing scandal over disclosures of historian Stephen Ambrose's multiple incidents of plagiarism. Because as Haley himself was forced to acknowledge, a large section of his book - including the plot, main character and scores of whole passages - was lifted from "The African," a 1967 novel by white author Hal Courlander.
But plagiarism is the least of the problems in "Roots." And they would likely have remained largely unknown, had journalist Philip Nobile not undertaken a remarkable study of Haley's private papers shortly before they were auctioned off.
The result was featured in a devastating 1993 cover piece in the Village Voice. It confirmed - from Haley's own notes - earlier claims that the alleged history of the book was a near-total invention.
"Virtually every genealogical claim in Haley's story was false," Nobile has written. None of Haley's early writing contains any reference to his mythic ancestor, "the African" named Kunta Kinte. Indeed, Haley's later notes give his family name as "Kante," not "Kinte."
And a long-suppressed tape of the famous session in which Haley " found" Kunta Kinte through the recitation of an African "griot" proves that, as BBC producer James Kent noted, "the villagers [were] threatened by members of Haley's party.
These turn out to be senior government officials desperate to ensure that things go smoothly." Haley, added Kent, "specifically asks for a story that will fit his predetermined American narrative."
Historical experts who checked Haley's genealogical research discovered that, as one put it, "Haley got everything wrong in his pre-Civil War lineage and none of his plantation ancestors existed; 182 pages have no basis in fact."
Given this damning evidence, you'd think Haley's halo would long ago have vanished. But - given this week's TV tribute - he remains a literary icon. Publicly, at least.
The judge who presided over Haley's plagiarism case admitted that "I did not want to destroy him" and so allowed him to settle quietly - even though, he acknowledged, Haley had repeatedly perjured himself in court.
The Pulitzer Prize board has refused to reconsider Haley's prize, awarded in 1977 - in what former Columbia President William McGill, then a board member, has acknowledged was an example of "inverse racism" by a bunch of white liberals "embarrassed by our makeup."
Yet the uniqueness of "Roots" is that it was presented as factual history, albeit with fictional embellishments. Haley himself stressed that the details came from his family's oral history and had been corroborated by outside documents.But Professor Henry Louis Gates of Harvard, a Haley friend, concedes that it's time to "speak candidly," adding that "most of us feel it's highly unlikely that Alex actually found the village from whence his ancestors came.
